The vibes of transcendental sound on western acoustic rhythm kept everyone on feet last night at Mahaprabhus residence. Mahaprabhu who hosted members of the youth forum to an extravaganza of music, dance and food fiesta described the event as overwhelming and very encouraging. “It feels great and very encouraging to see so many people coming forward” said Mahaprabhu. The event was organized by Hare Krishna Youth forum to kick start this years events with new levels of energy rejuvenated so that the inclusiveness of each member is recognized. With a special request by FOLKS (as the members call themselves which means FRIENDS OF LORD KRISHNA) Vishwanath Prabhu led a powerful kirtan on the orchestra giving members an opportunity to rise up from the chairs on their feet. Radhakant who took charge of being the master of ceremonies then took the ice breaker session giving everyone 3 minutes to know the person sitting next to them. They were then asked to introduce their new friends sitting next to them. Then Mahaprabhu on behalf of the Youth Forum reiterated sentiments and requests shared by the temple committee in moving the society forward. He acknowledged the hard work of all members and informed them of plans on book distribution, harinaam, and importance of mangal arati, preaching and most of all stressed cooperation amongst all. In the latter part of the evening a powerful kirtan, the melodious voice of Vishvanath Prabhu re took centre stage with members converging in the central area of the marquee dancing to the beautiful tunes. Suva experienced heavy down pours during the day however by the arrangement and blessing of Lord Krishna there wasn’t any sign of rain in the evening. Although the ground was wet it did not dampen the spirit of dancing, chanting and merry making. You could see everyone deeply absorbed into the ecstasy and excitement of the program. To everyone cheering, excitement and hype Bhim Sen Prabhu returned on the same night after a month’s trip from Australia and members were very enthused on his return seeing him in presence. Bhim Sen Prabhu is a founding chairperson of the youth Forum. Radhakant described the event as very successful appreciating the presence of some long time friends who after missing in action for some time have been back on stage.Navnita Chand a guest was full of praises about the members and described them being unique and very friendly and caring.

The event has raised a platform for members to go a level higher into preaching and spreading the rays of Krishna Consciousness to other youths who may not yet be as fortunate as us to enjoy the true eternal bliss said another executive.To end the event for the night was a sumptuous feast, fruit juices and ice cream and fruits. Nothing proved more attractive then this. It was a night many may have done over loading. The event was a great success and Hare Krsna Youth forum acknowledged the support of the temple president, senior Vasinavas, Jai Ram Prabhu, executives ( Sanatan, Sakhee, Sri Radhe, Jenny, Vikash, Yogi, ) other members of the forum and of course the host.
